The Diary of William Francis Parnell
Gunner in the 4th Field Regiment of Artillery
2nd New Zealand Division

Frank's War Diary
This is the diary of William Francis Parnell (known as Frank Parnell), a New Zealand soldier who fought
in World War 2 during the German invasion of Greece. Frank wrote this diary of his experiences during the Greek
campaign, as well as some of his time as a prisoner of war after he was captured.
I've kept this diary exact to how it was written, with only a few grammar and spelling corrections where necessary. I've also
put some of my own research in, to try and explain and go into more detail on some of things Frank talks about. Click on highlighted
diary entries to see my added notes.
